December FIber Guild News

December Holiday Party
Sunday December 9th             ALERT!  Cancelled and Moved to DEC 16th!!!!  Sunday 1- 4 pm

We will not be having a regular meeting at the Mission this month but instead we are having our annual Holiday Party. This year we are going to be having a pot luck and gift exchange, please bring a fiber related gift with a value of at least $10.00. It can be a "regifted something" if this is something you think someone would want to use or it can be something new. Please bring the wrapped gift to the party which will be held at Debbie Dubinsky's House 5:30 pm Sunday, December 9th at 11719 Mackey, Overland Park, KS. Located one block east of Antioch. If you are coming from a highway, I am closest to the I-435 & Antioch exit if you are coming from the east. ( The westbound exit/entrance is not open yet) If you need further instructions you can call me that day at 913-451-8737.
The Guild will be providing Deli Tray and breads and plates, cups and beverages. If your last name begins with A-M please bring Appetizer or side dish and if your last name is N-Z please bring dessert. Please RSVP and let me know what you are going to bring so we don't have duplicates to spindeb@aol.com

January Fiber Guild Meeting
Swap and Shop
Will be January 9th at the Mission. This is a very fun meeting to come to and bring some cash and extra fiber thingies that you no longer want. Start putting aside things to clear out your fiber closet of yarns, fibers, books, magazines, tools and whatever you have had sitting around and maybe some of your fiber guild friends are dying to take it home with them. Everyone has something sitting around that they can bring so lets have a great swap and shop this year with lots of stuff to trade, buy and sell!!

Creative Hand
The Creative Hand Sale was a great success this year. I believe that our sales were up 25%. Everything was set up beautifully and we had customers constantly in the show. Thanks to Sandy and Catherine for all their hard work and especially to the set up committee for making things look spectacular and to Elinor for getting our checks out so quickly! Thanks also to all of you who volunteered to help out even though you were not a show participant! I have never seen so much cooperation in a show. It was just  a very cordial atmosphere which was great for our customers and obviously great for sales. Next year we are set to be back at the same location at Sylvester Powell building for another great Creative Hand #26!!

For Sale
Hey Friends,
I need to do some cleaning out and decided to sell my cute little Louet S40 mini Hatbox Spinning Wheel. I've listed it on eBay.

Wanted
Yarns, books, fibers, magazines, spinning wheels, fiber tools, etc. If you dont want them then bring them to the annual Swap and Shop next month at the January meeting. When toting around all that stuff a flashlight might be in order since the parking lot at the mission is not lit.

From the editor...
Now is the time to get busy with those winter projects and be sure to get up and do some stretching in between so you don't get those lovely cramps at those weak points in the body!! Please send me any info or new names, corrected emails or new members. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Holiday Season and gets to eat a lot of cookies and holiday treats and not gain weight.  Looking forward to a happy and healthy 2008 for Everyone!
